Regarding 564 Lee Street

Andrew Dempsy the slumlord of the ironically fancy corner house in Queen Anne that is essentially rotting from the inside out both physically and figuratively, is not returning my cleaning deposit and partial last month’s rent for a total of 450$. And not only that, but I know for a fact that at least two other folks that lived recently at 564 Lee Street, Seattle, WA 98109 did not get their deposits back either. Michael B, the one that was in my room before I landed there in June. And Nick B didn’t get his back either, and someone who is stealing like that, definitely ought to be investigated because stealing is against not only the civil law, but the greater karmic or Royal Law.

I looked on the Seattle.gov/dsci site and there doesn’t really look like much legal assistance is available, especially in the midst of the global plague, what with staff size being minimized as of late, so I would have to rally a small claims court trial together if I were to labor on against this exploitation. I mean, I did threaten Mr. Dempsy with taking legal action but he called and maintained that he didn’t owe me anything on account that other tenants in the house owed him money and so he was taking my deposit, etc in that stead — because other separate unrelated to me tenants in his house hadn’t paid him, he considers himself justified in keeping my deposit.

The final attempt I made earlier this week via text message to re-request the owed sum was met with, “Hi Anna, respectfully I am not withholding your deposit or your last months rent. I do not OU any any money. I would appreciate it if you stopped harrassing me in my family”

*(hard sarcastic) Riiiiiiiiiiiight.*

Lord almighty in heaven! The injustice that someone so shisty and who keeps such a disreputable establishment, should be allowed to continue to rent to people and skim their deposits and last months is categorically repugnant! This man went so far in **(screenshot of gmail above)** an email to tell me (again) essentially that he was keeping my deposit because other people in the house owed him unpaid rent. The logic at play is definitely illogical, thus one questions the competency of this landlord. Furthermore, (***see gmail screenshot***) he went on inferring in the email that I was asking for a refund for moving out early (having paid the whole month mind you). He doesn’t even acknowledge that the 200$ was a security deposit, and the other 250$ was a portion of the last months rent, that the first in house rent collector hounded me for every month of the five I was there. I sure am glad I didn’t give over more! — considering how this played out.

Beware people, get signed agreements if you want to see your funds again, I definitely did that this next time around.

It’s a sorry state of affairs when people just rent property for the money and don’t prioritize providing quality housing to their tenants if it means making anymore than the bare minimum of effort, but I mean the system that contains landlords, and the rest of us 99% is so deeply flawed and in need of reform it’s just a question of how to activate and design the imminent reform.

A little elaboration while I’m at it, Nick texted me a few days after I moved out to report that the latest designated on site (fellow tenant) rent collector and another tenant that I had actually considered a friend (lol although I haven’t really been in touch with him lately) jumped him and he had to call the cops. I thank my lucky stars that I found something good so quickly and was able to bounce out of that trap house before it really went south over there, that’s for sure.

But losing that 450$ was a bitter pill to swallow without a doubt. Well, live and learn.

In conclusion, this article is the least I can do to get this distasteful situation out of my system and it is my intention is that this truth will circulate and keep other people from entering into any sort of dealings with this dishonest illogical landlord, that is happy to steal folks savings. And I’ll go on so far as to say that by the power of the deepest sea that vibrates deeply in my blood and all of ours and all the positive energy that goes on infinitely, I put it out there that this magical electric all powerful-force will bring my stolen funds around to me in the form of luck, favor, and opportunities, after all, my name means favor.
